PhD Positions
QUEST offers PhD-Positions on different topics and in different workgroups. Please check this section regularly for updates!
- Currently we invite applications for the following position:
The Institut für Erdmessung (IfE) invites applications for a
PhD/PostDoc position (TVL-E13)
The appointment is expected to commence
on September 1, 2010 for a period of at least three years and will
remain open until filled.
We are interested in candidates with master or diploma degree in physics, electro-engineering, or geodesy with strong interest in theoretical as well as experimental work in the field of high precision GPS radio wave propagation. The ability
to collaborate with other groups in the department and with our
partners will by an assert. We seek for a dynamic individual who is
highly motivated to advance the research at the cutting edge in
understanding the GNSS signal propagation and multipath errors, both
in simulations and carefully designed experiments. Ability to
program in MATLAB and C are required. Skills in GPS analysis, or
wave propagation, or digital signal processing will be advantageous.

Hannover School for Laser, Optics and Space-Time Research (HALOSTAR) invites
applications for
PhD fellowships
in close collaboration with the cluster of excellence QUEST - Centre for
Quantum Engineering and Space-Time Research.
HALOSTAR is a coordinated PhD programme of Leibniz Universität Hanover.
Involved in the programme are the disciplines of physics, mathematics and
geodesy, with research concentrated on the entire range of quantum physics,
light and space-time research, and the mathematical principles.
HALOSTAR promotes students at different levels of education and purposely
introduces them to the cutting-edge research projects of the partners
involved. Entry to the programme is therefore possible upon successfully
completing a bachelor's degree in physics, mathematics or geodesy. Direct
entry to the doctoral stage is open to graduates with a master's or diploma degree.
For detailed information, please refer to the webpage www.halostar.de.
New fellowships will be granted starting in winter semester 2010/2011.
Students interested in HALOSTAR can apply until July, 15th 2010 using the
online registration form www.halostar.de/index.php.
- Applications submitted earlier will be considered as they come in.
Research Assistant (TV-L E13)
The Institute for Geodesy invites applications for a positions as research assistants (TV-L E13).
